The panel, which also includes experts from Glen Dimplex, Saint Gobain and Schneider, is guaranteed to a deliver a very interesting discussion on smart energy. They will be explaining the concept of smart cities, smart homes and smart grids, a subject in which Mark is an expert in. With over 10 years experience in the company, Mark, who is a chartered engineer, is an integral member of Veolia’s Leadership team.
Smart Energy is an extremely important challenge within the energy sector. Today, our way of life is being transformed as never before. With significant economic and demographic growth in emerging countries, and greater dependence on electricity in industrialised countries, power demand is booming around the globe. Furthermore, it is estimated that 70% of the world's population will live in cities by 2050.
We need to rethink the way we manage our cities to create smart cities that are built to last. A smart city integrates state of the art green technologies to create a city that is both sustainable and can deliver high living standards. A smart city leads the way towards CO2 neutrality and delivers solutions for its inhabitants that are cost effective and efficient. At the same time it is a healthy, energy-efficient city that uses renewable energy sources as much as possible.
