Veolia has achieved the Business Working Responsibly Mark once again and is accredited for a further three years. Established in 2010 by Business in the Community Ireland and audited by the NSAI, the Business Working Responsibly Mark is the leading standard for sustainability that fosters a culture of continuous improvement, ongoing accountability and leadership.
Veolia’s success in being reaccredited is based on developing and implementing a credible, meaningful roadmap to sustainability. Achieving the Mark recognises Veolia’s established management systems, good governance and commitment to continuous improvement. Successfully achieving the Mark is based on Veolia’s approach to creating a positive and sustainable economic impact, to engaging with key social stakeholders and Veolia’s approach to responsibly managing its total environmental footprint across its operations and value chain.
Delivering on our ambition to be the leader in ecological transformation is based on being a sustainable, responsible business. This means looking at all aspects of our business to ensure that we deliver for our customers, our people and our communities. Achieving the Business Working Responsibly Mark is a powerful acknowledgement of the work done across all aspects of our business to operate in a responsible way. I am very proud of this achievement.
Successfully achieving the Mark is based on Veolia’s approach to creating a positive and sustainable economic impact, to engaging with key social stakeholders and Veolia’s approach to responsibly managing its total environmental footprint across its operations and value chain.
Veolia is the first company in Ireland to be accredited to the Business Working Responsibly Mark under the updated Version 5 of the Mark which reflects the importance of robust ESG reporting, with a focus on Economic, Environment, Social and Governance management processes.
Furthermore, this year, for the first time, Veolia has included operations in Northern Ireland in the scope of the certification.
As strong ESG credentials become imperative, it is critical for business to have objective proof points that their management systems are robust and that both social and environmental sustainability is fully integrated within their organisations. I want to congratulate our member Veolia for re-certifying to the Business Working Responsibly Mark for the third time, a major milestone and recognition of their strong commitment to continuous improvement.
